Sedimentological and lithostratigraphic study of the Foum El Kous Senonian, Central Hight Atlas of Morocco

The study area belongs to the southern edge of central High Atlas. It is limited North by Sub-atlasic accident and South extension Eastern Anti Atlas formations. To determine depositional environments Senonian series, a sedimentological analysis facies was carried out based on field observations recognition sedimentary structures textures. An exoscopic quartz grains also systematic prospecting grain relief all characters that will appear surface after formation mother rock at origin place, during transport, immobilization phases deposition. seems very interesting prospect for clayey side in these Upper Cretaceous reddish formations because evolution non-clayey assemblages this basin depend mainly combination tectonic, eustatic, climatic other influences. Foum El Kous which has less important thickness corresponds continental deposits act role natural barrier separates both sides two sub-basins: Sidi Ali Oubork East Ait youl West.
